A Ray of Light

I was trapped

Got stuck in a tunnel

Filled with anger, insecurity, fear

And with endless agony

That led me to hopelessness

I cringed

At the sight of my misery

Blinded by the dark

Alive at the surface

Yet dead beneath

I was deprived

Hungry for affection

Thirsty for satisfaction

Looking for something out of sight

And beyond my grasp

I peeked

Out of the tunnel

And caught a glimpse

Of light and beauty

I felt unworthy to see

Right then and there...

I was rescued

By a ray of light

And covered me

With love, peace, joy

Hope and life forevermore.
