I forgive—
not because I’m strong,
but because He was pierced for my peace (Isaiah 53:5).
Not because they said sorry,
but because He said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30)
I forgive—
because bitterness is a chain,
and mercy is a key.
Because vengeance is heavy,
but grace is light.
I forgive—
not to erase the past,
but to redeem it.
Not to pretend it didn’t break me,
but to proclaim: He is rebuilding me.
I forgive—
because love keeps no record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Because mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13).
Because I am not who I was,
and neither are they.
I forgive—
because the cross was enough.
Because Jesus didn’t just die for my sins,
He died for theirs too.
So I release.
I bless.
I walk free.
Not because they deserve it,
but because He paid for it.
