I don’t want eyes that only see the surface—
I want vision that pierces through the fog.
Not just ears that hear the loudest voice,
But a heart tuned to the whisper of God.
“The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.” — Proverbs 20:12
Discernment is not suspicion dressed in scripture,
It’s wisdom wrapped in love.
It’s not fear of the unfamiliar,
It’s faith that filters from above.
“Let love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight…” — Philippians 1:9
It’s the Spirit saying, “Wait—don’t rush.”
It’s the Word saying, “Test every touch.”
It’s the pause before the yes,
The prayer before the step,
The peace that passes every fleshly test.
“The peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7
I’ve learned that not every light is holy,
Not every crowd is called,
Not every “Christian” quote is Christ,
And not every rise is revival.
“Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” — 2 Corinthians 11:14
So I ask for eyes like Elisha’s servant—
To see the armies that surround.
To know when God is speaking,
Even when silence is the sound.
“Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” — 2 Kings 6:17
Give me discernment, Lord—
Not to judge, but to guard.
Not to boast, but to bless.
Not to divide, but to direct.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23
Because the difference between deception and destiny
Is discernment.
And I choose to walk in it.
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:6
