“The Path I Didn’t Choose—But Needed”

There was a season I prayed for clarity but received silence.

A time I asked for direction but found delay.

I thought God had forgotten me.

But now I see—He was forming me.

Psalm 16:11 says,

“You make known to me the path of life;

in your presence there is fullness of joy;

at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

This verse became a lifeline in my waiting.

Not because I understood the path, but because I began to understand the Guide.

I used to think joy was the reward at the end of obedience.

Now I know—it’s the companion within it.

Joy is not found in the outcome.

It’s found in His presence.

And His presence is not a place I visit.

It’s a Person I walk with.

This path—marked by surrender, softened by grace, and lit by His Word—

is not the one I would’ve chosen.

But it’s the one I needed.

Because it’s the one where I found Him.

So if you’re in a season of not-knowing,

take heart.

He is not hiding the path.

He is holding your hand.

And in His presence,

there is joy.

There is peace.

There is forever.
